Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC)
Challenge:
NVTC needed to convey a high-tech image to current and potential members and wanted to highlight their Titans of Technology speakers such as General Colin Powell by placing video clips of each speaker on its Web site. However, after realizing there were still too many bandwidth issues for viewing video clips on the web, NVTC looked to LeapFrog Solutions to solve their problem.
Solution:
LeapFrog Solutions designed, scripted, programmed and produced the NVTC mini CD-Rom that not only houses 4 video clips, it provides a get-linked section that takes the user to a requested area of the NVTC.org web site for updated member benefits, member applications, annual reports, and numerous committee sections. The mini CD size is viewed as "high-tech".
Result:
By housing the video clips on the mini-CD, it eliminated the bandwidth issues. By linking users to updated information on the nvtc.org Web site rather than housing it on the CD itself, it increased the shelf-life of the CD. Mailing costs for membership kits went from over $5.00 to 34 cents (now 37 cents) and demand was so great for the CD that LFS had to reorder CDs within the year for NVTC.
NVTC also awarded LFS the design and development of the nvtcfoundation.org Web site and print collateral campaign to promote the development of the TechXpedition Center.
