SkillSource Group, Inc.
Challenge:
The SkillSource Group (SSG) is a non-profit entity of Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board (NVWIB) which was originally funded by the Department of Labor. The SkillSource Group has multiple job centers throughout Northern Virginia in which they provide training and recruitment services for both job seekers and employees. SSG has many different programs in which they need to promote their services and bring awareness to multiple target audiences. The goal is to increase the number of visitors to the centers and engage them with the various training and recruiting services that are available. In turn, this results in more funding for SSG. The challenge is reaching out to various groups and tracking the activity of the visits to each of the centers to gain additional funding.
Solution:
LeapFrog Solutions (LFS) has a long-term relationship with SSG and was brought on board to develop marketing materials for specific initiatives. Some of the initiatives were targeted to health care and employees who were effected by BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure). Others were targeted to employers explaining the benefits of hiring ex-offendors. Yet another initiative was targeted to dislocated workers over the age of 45 to help start and expand their own small business in Virginia. LFS created various marketing materials for each of the initiatives to help bring awareness to the centers. The materials consist of brochures, posters and updates to the SSG Web site. Some of the brochures were translated into various languages including Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, Farsi and others
SSG also has a customer/employer application that is used to capture information of the customers when they visit a center. The application has a survey for both job seekers and employers to further gain information about the target audience. LFS was tasked to upgrade the application and make enhancements so that the reporting system worked properly, as well as update the questionnaires and surveys within the application.
Result:
The SkillSource Group has renewed their contract with LFS for another five years due to LFS’ solid ethics and result-driven marketing expertise. The SSG brand has been successfully carried out in multiple collateral pieces and has been well received. The centers have experienced a growth within the number of visitors to the centers. The application works more effectively and provides accurate reports so that SSG can continuously monitor the centers and activity in each. LFS continues to work with SSG on other collateral such as the annual report and maintains the SSG Web site.
