Oakton, Va. — October 6, 2009 — LeapFrog Solutions, Inc. (LFS), a full-service strategic marketing communications firm, announced today that Lisa Martin, LFS President and CEO has been selected to receive the prestigious Top 100 Minority Business Enterprise Award. Martin has been honored as one of the winners of this annual awards program in 2007 and now again in 2009.
This program is designed to salute the region's best minority and women business owners and to highlight their achievements. The University of Maryland University College (UMUC), Southwest Airlines, The Parren J. Mitchell Foundation and the Governor's Office of Minority Affairs are this year's host organizations. This prominent award honors outstanding women and minority business owners in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and the District of Columbia.
LFS, founded by Martin more than 13 years ago, is a full-service marketing communications firm that integrates the best traditional marketing methods with the latest advanced technologies and solutions. Being honored with the Top 100 Minority Business Enterprise Award is a remarkable accomplishment for Martin and testament to the award winning work that LFS produces. “I am honored to be recognized for our work in marketing, public relations, Web site design and development, graphic print design, and multimedia presentations,” said Lisa Martin, LFS President and CEO. “In true entrepreneurial spirit, I started LFS out of my basement in 1996-growing my business to 17 employees with expected 2009 revenues of more than $3 million. When starting LFS, I saw a need for an agency that gets back to the basics of personalized customer service – the cornerstone of my business. My clients keep me energized as I strive to develop sound, yet innovative solutions to meet their unique needs.”
A panel of distinguished judges chose Martin as an entrepreneur that demonstrated outstanding achievement in four key areas: business development, client satisfaction, professional affiliations and community outreach. Sharon R. Pinder, founder of the TOP 100 MBE Awards Ceremony said, "The business owners selected for this award represent the best of the region's more than 350,000 women and minority owned businesses. Their contributions have had a major impact in maintaining Maryland's vibrant economy."
Martin will be honored at an awards ceremony at the Inn and Conference Center, at University of Maryland University College, in Adelphi, Maryland, on Sunday, November 15, 2009 beginning at 3 pm. For more information, please visit www.top100mbe.com.
