Jim Henry

Jim Henry is Principal and Founder of JEH Consulting, a firm that assists Federal government executives and the businesses that support and serve the Public Sector. JEH Consulting provides a host of services including developing business strategies, addressing organizational challenges, providing business development expertise in the areas of relationship development and maintenance, and creating coverage, partnering and sales / marketing strategies. Mr. Henry has over thirty years of business experience and has served in multiple capacities across both the private and public sectors.



Prior to founding JEH Consulting, Mr. Henry led the business development organizations for Federal practices at both Deloitte Consulting and the Sapient Corporation. In addition to utilizing his expertise in serving Federal government clients, Mr. Henry developed relationships with an influential group of systems integrators and businesses of all sizes and interests in addressing the needs of Federal agencies and departments. Mr. Henry has strong skills in developing sales strategies and building partnerships to successfully pursue opportunities across the application spectrum.



Mr. Henry joined IBM in 1973 and progressed through a number of challenging and rewarding positions. After a few years in sales and sales support positions, he began a management career that spanned twenty of his twenty-eight years at IBM. He led a cross-industry commercial sales unit in Illinois and managed a briefing center staff responsible for driving large systems processors at IBM's largest plant site. Mr. Henry also held numerous middle management positions. He served as a product marketing manager, responsible for the marketing strategy, product introduction, and sales for a new high availability / fault tolerant product introduced in 1986. Mr. Henry also managed sales teams responsible for the US Postal Service and the Federal Health / Medical segment. In those assignments, he led teams that grew annual revenues over 300% in both four year periods. In between those two assignments, he led a major reorganization of IBM's national Federal field force and then managed the western US team. He also led the implementation of IBM's CRM implementation across the Federal sales group. During his IBM career, Mr. Henry received three VP Leadership Awards, two Golden Circle Awards, nineteen 100% Clubs and numerous other awards.



Mr. Henry has been active in a number of industry associations including the Industry Advisory Council where he was selected for the IAC Partners Class of 1999. He holds a B.S. Degree from the Virginia Military Institute and received his MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden School in 1973. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal for his service in Vietnam. Mr. Henry is married with three grown children and resides in Vienna, VA.
